The suburb is bordered by the Alaric Road (Thaba Tshwane) to the North, Zwartkop Nature Reserve to the West, Old Johannesburg Road (R101) to the East and Glen Lauriston (Wierda Road, M10) to the South.
Due to the fact that Valhalla is one of the older suburbs in Centurion, most of the properties have large well established wooded gardens on large stands. Residents prefer Valhalla for its convenient location to the city centre, variety of dwellings, tranquil environment bordering on the Zwartkop Nature Reserve and the fact that there is very little building activity in the area.
Valhalla has a number of smaller shopping centres that contain all the necessary shops. However, the surrounding suburbs of Clubview, Eldoraigne and Wierda Park all have numerous shopping centres. Valhalla also has the usual cafes and convenience stores.
