The Waterfall development in Midrand is steadily reshaping the skyline between Sandton and Pretoria and continues to capture the imagination of prospective residents with its visionary urban planning.
“Buyers looking for high-end properties, especially, are delighted with the lifestyle offering of the Waterfall Country Estate and Village, which has been designed to give residents a sense of personal freedom and safety,” says Phiwe Myeza, co-owner of the Chas Everitt International franchise in Midrand.
“Security is state-of-the art in this estate, with CCTV and access-control systems, and parents can have peace of mind when their children walk to the private school right at the gate.”
She says her franchise is currently marketing several homes in this development, which also has a large clubhouse with a restaurant and full gymnasium, as well as 37km of walking and cycling trails. The Waterfall Corner shopping centre is next door and there is a Netcare private hospital close by in the greater Waterfall precinct.
What is more, Myeza notes, the “earlybird” investors in Waterfall have seen the value of their properties increase by about 200% since the launch of the estate. “And due to the high demand, we can confidently predict that properties here will continue to show excellent growth.”
Developed in accordance with the principles of ecological sustainability and “green living”, the Waterfall precinct today offers homebuyers a range of different residential options, including vacant stands and family homes, sectional title apartments, retirement units and multimillion-rand mansions in an equestrian estate.
Once completed, it will also contain the Waterfall City business centre where the new head offices of PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Hilti SA and Stryker are already under construction; the Tintswalo hotel, spa, restaurant and conference facility; a Gautrain station and the massive Mall of Africa retail development.
Prices for residential properties in the Waterfall Estate and Village start at around R2,5m for a 1000sqm stand and around R2,85m for a two-bedroom, two-bathroom home in a retirement village. Prices for family homes with three ensuite bedrooms range from about R4m to R6m.
Meanwhile, the new affordable development named Waterfall View offers two, three and four-bedroom homes at prices from around R600 000.
