The suburb is bordered by the Western Bypass to its south, and lies between the main arterial routes of Beyers Naude on its east and Hendrik Potgieter to the west. These, and other major roads feeding into, and adjacent to, the area, provide easy access into and out of the suburb.
Once considered to be on the far reaches of Johannesburg, Weltevredenpark is now one of the older suburbs of northern Johannesburg, and is accordingly well established.
