Parktown North is one of the oldest suburbs in Johannesburg bordering Parktown, Parkwood, Parkhurst & Dunkeld. This beautiful upmarket suburb was originally established in the early 1900's and is set in the tree lined area known as "The Parks"
Centrally located it is near Jan Smuts Ave, a busy road extending from Parktown to Randburg and connects to the William Nicol Highway. Jan Smuts Ave is a main route for all Bus Transport. The Gautrain & M1 Highway are easily accessible. The Business Hubs of the CBD, Parktown, Rosebank & Sandton are within easy reach.
Excellent Schools are to be found in the vicinity. Rosebank Convent, Kingsmead, Parktown Boys High, Parktown Girls High, Greenside High, St Vincent's School for the Deaf & Parkview Primary are amongst those within a 10-minute drive. Parktown North is also conveniently situated with regards to commuting to Wits Campus & UJ.
Medical facilities close to Parktown North include Netcare Rosebank Clinic & Donald Gordon Hospital. Rosebank Sports Clinic, Physiotherapy & Dental Services as well as Doctors Practices are to be found in the area. There are 2 excellent Veterinary Clinics. Parktown North Veterinary Clinic & Craighall Animal Hospital which borders Parktown North.
Shopping opportunities are plentiful. Rosebank Mall & The Zone are within 2 km radius. Hyde Park Shopping Mall & Melrose Arch are about 10 minutes away & Sandton City is a 15-minute journey. The Rosebank Sunday Rooftop Market & The African Craft Market draw many visitors.
The Pristine Golf Courses of Parkview, Wanderers & Killarney are within close proximity. Other attractions in the area are Johannesburg Zoo, Zoo Lake & Melrose Bird Sanctuary.
Parktown North has top restaurants on offer. Most are situated on or near 7th Ave. The trendy Pubs & restaurants in Parkhurst are but a suburb away.
