Kensington properties are laid out over the slopes of several flat-topped, high-side hills.

Location and Attributes

Kensington is one of the older established suburbs in JHB, comprising of approximately 5200 stands and extending from the border of Troyeville in the west to Bedford Gardens in the east and from Malvern in the south to Bruma and South Kensington in the north.

The streets were laid in 1902, and were heavily planted with trees, which gives the suburb a distinctive wooded appearance and adds to its appeal to prospective property purchasers.

The Queen Street Business District offers the community all that one's heart desires from coffee shops and restaurants to second hand furniture shops that sell old wooden furniture that most home owners would love to have in their Kensington homes. It also boasts many of small business entrepreneurs that offer a variety of services to the community.

Access and Facilities

Kensington is within easy access of the Johannesburg CBD, the major road networks to OR Tambo airport and the highways to the south and north, Ellis Park, and has well known shopping centers including Eastgate, Bedford Centre, as well as Park Meadows and the Darras Centre.

Kensington is also home to the headquarters of the Church of Scientology, and Pick 'n Pay's head office.
